Tips

Selling tips:
  • Give as much detail about your product as possible. Customers look for the facts about the age, brand and design of a product, as well as for any interesting information you may know about the life story of your time piece. How did the clock end up in your possession?
  • Acknowledge any defects: Rather be upfront at the beginning about any flaws that your product may have.
  • Quality of the photo: Even though your camera and lighting may not be of a professional standard, there are things you can do to maximize the impact of your photograph. For example, open the door of the clock to minimize reflection on the dial.
  • Make sure that you advertise your product at a time when you will be available to answer the telephone and check your emails.

Buying tips:

  • Know what you are buying, and from whom you are buying it.

Swopping tips:

  • Have an open mind. Enjoy it. Don't take life too seriously!

Being in this trade for over 35 years means that our colleagues and our customers have become friends. In the past few months we watched together as a new need developed. Retailers needed maximized and affordable exposure. Customers wanted to sell and swop items we just couldn't afford to buy for our showrooms.
